Rest over for top Australian stars
Captain Michael Clarke, David Warner and Matthew Wade have all been included in the team for the 3rd and 4th ODI's against Sri Lanka on Friday and Sunday. Khawaja, Finch and Steve Smith have all been dropped. Moises Henriques comes into the squad as a surprise call-up, while the two Mitchells (Johnson and Starc) return for debutants Cutting and Richardson.
The surprise obviously is the selection of Moises Henriques. John Inverarity labelled him a "genuine all-rounder." He last played a ODI in November 2009, which was his last international match. His form in the Ryobi Cup so far has been good, without being spectacular. He has scored 135 runs at 33.75, and taken 6 wickets at 35.50 in 4 matches. It is no doubt that he is viewed a player with tremendous potential, but I'm not exactly sure whether he has earned this call-up. I'm guessing he will play at #6 and offer Clarke more options as a fourth seamer. Consequently Maxwell may find himself out of the team with his quiet form in the past two games. If the selectors decide to play Watson in the Sheffield Shield, instead of in the ODI Series, prior to the tour of India, then Henriques may find himself having an extended run in the team.
Full squad: Clarke (c), Bailey, Doherty, Henriques, Hughes, D.Hussey, Johnson, Maxwell, McKay, Starc, Wade, Warner
