England win in close match!

England have pulled off a 9 run win against India in the 1st ODI in Rajkot overnight. After England piled on 325/4, India made a great chase of it with nearly every batsman making a contribution. Openers Rahane 47 and Gambhir 52 set the platform, while Yuvraj Singh who made 61 off 54 accelerated the run chase. Suresh Raina made a run a ball 50, while captain MS Dhoni hit 4 sixes in his quickfire knock of 32 off 25 balls. Unfortunately when he was dismissed by Dernbach in the 45th over, India's chances severely diminished. The home side ended up on 316/9. James Tredwell was the pick of the bowlers for the visitors picking up 4/44 off his 10 overs, as well as the Man of the Match Award.

This win ended England's losing streak of 13 in ODI's against India in India. After taking the first match, they should feel quite confident of taking the series and thereby maintain their #1 ODI ranking.
