India take 2-1 lead

India smashed England in the 3rd ODI overnight by 7 wickets enabling them to take a 2-1 lead in the 5 match series. After being beaten comfortably in the last match, nothing improved for the visitors as they were bowled out for 155 within 43 overs. (See my previous post on this game for more detailed first innings details)

India cruised to victory losing only three wickets, despite the early dismissal of Ajinkya Rahane for 0. Other opener Gambhir made 33, while Virat Kohli steered the chase with 77* off only 79 deliveries with 9 fours and 2 sixes. Yuvraj also chipped in with 30 before being bowled by James Tredwell. Tredwell was the best English bowler taking 2/29, with the only other wicket going to Steve Finn. Dernbach was especially expensive going at 9 an over.

India now have the opportunity to seal the series with a win in the next game, whereas England need a win to keep the series alive. After losing in the first game, India have bounced back wonderfully with two impressive performances. Meanwhile England need to stem the momentum flow that the home side have gained over the past two matches.
